I was browsing http://www.maxx.co.nz/information/about-maxx/google-transit-feed.html and I see some very draconian, non-open-govt-data terms in their conditions. 1.2(b) reserves all rights in all content, forever. 1.3(b) prevents any system answering a query by a user to enquire on the MAXX website. Seems quite hostile to me...
I think what that means is that you can't use the route information in the
Google Transit file to scrape the MAXX website. I thought it was quite hostile
as well which is why I think they took so long to answer the initial query for
the url. I've got another email into them asking about real time bus
information as well but I'm not sure how far I'll get with that. I'm giving
them the benefit of the doubt at the moment.
Should we maybe start a "Hall of Shame"
