I've just pushed version 1.1 of the site live. The main update being that I now have a list of official sources which is here: http://opengovt.org.nz/cat/category/official_source/ Click on one and you get a list of the datasets that we have for that department: http://opengovt.org.nz/cat/2009/06/16/the-treasury/ The list of sources is not exhaustive and I will add more when people suggest datasets that don't fit into these headings but its a start. I've called the section "View Sources" but that doesn't quite seem right. I'm happy to take suggestions of a better menu name.

Can I suggest specific format categories for XML (subset XBRL?, SOAP, ATOM etc.), JSON etc.? And in due course, counts by format? I'd hate to see all this 'open' data only available in .XLS

Web Services is an ambigious term. Some may interpret it to mean solely SOAP.
Maybe two categories are better: "SOAP Web Services" and "RESTful Web
Services".

I'll call it "API Access". Less is best. Specific mentions of the type
of API access can go in the description.

Thanks for your work on this, Glen.
Re main nav, I would only use a verb if there is an explicit action to
be taken on the page. Viewing is the default action on the web. We don't
bother saying "View Home" any more than we bother saying "Home Page" in
the main nav. Clearly "Add Datasets" requires a verb, but as you can
only add one dataset on that page, I'd call it "Add Dataset".

I definitely support using semantic markup for agencies and datasets.
Jonathan, I'd work with you on that.
Me today: create an account in Lighthouse (done), adding a dataset, and
promoting opengovt.org.nz in the biodiversity data community.
